We were there last year and we felt safe while in the park. You definitely don’t want to wander outside the park. We took the free shuttle to St Louis to see the cardinals and drove our vehicle over to go to the Arch. You don’t want to miss out on the St. Louis Arch. Watch the movie first and then take the tram to the top if it’s open this year....

No. Its fenced in and is gated and only campers get the code. There is a security vehicle that patrols the campground frequently and they will also give you a lift to the casino or the tram across the river to St Louis or to Saint Clair SquRe shopping center on the Illinois side....

I too read about the problems in ESL, but I drove around and there's very few people close by. Seemed safe to me, but I live in a city with 5 times the population of St Louis. There isn't much to walk around to go to from what I can see. Its surrounded by train tracks and freeways. Weren't even any homeless encampments near this park, they are probably over on the St Louis side of the river. Or in East St Louis which I haven't actually found yet....

We felt completely safe. The park is gated and surrounded by high fencing. Security patrols constantly. I probably never walked my dogs without at least one security vehicle driving past (once 3 passed me before finishing my walk)....

No issues. The park is surrounded with a fence topped with barbed wire and gated entry. You will see the security car go through the park about once an hour, 24/7. The area inside the fence is fine, but I would not walk outside the fence....

I felt safe. There was a code to enter the gate to get into the RV area and they have a security person who patrols the area after dark. It was in a bad area, but the casino is doing everything it can to make people feel safe here....

We did not have any unsafe feelings. It’s gated with a code to get into the Rv park. There were no unwanted people walking around. In the evening, I went and did laundry and needed a code to get into the laundry room. The campground was 3/4 full of us RVers and it was clean and far away enough from the casino and casino traffic. I highly recommend giving it a try. We would stay here again. The views of the arch were fantastic. It’s lighted up at night. You can’t get any closer than this campground to the Arch national park. So glad we stayed here....
