• Question:

RV Trip Wizard directs you to the back gate of the campground to enter but the Park website directs you to enter and register at the Visitors Center. Can you enter and register through the back gate? Also - is there enough room at the visitors center to park and turn back around with a 34’ trailer? It looks like a tight parking lot....

You have to register at the front gate first. We then used the back gate because it was easier and closer to our camp ground....

You can enter through the back gate. But you cannot register there. You will have to drive (or walk, as I did; it’s 1.6 miles one-way, all UPhill from the campground) around to the main gate to register and (if you’ve reserved in advance) pick up tags. I’m sorry, I don’t recall the parking lot details. Since I was on foot, it wasn’t relevant to me at the time....

Go in the back gate. Much easier if you know your site. The dump station is by this gate also. As for the office, there are two parking lots. One is on the left of the office and the other on the right. Only go to the left of office. If there are no others checking in you should be able to maneuver. The road from the office to the cg is a little steep so go slow...

If you have a way to get up to the front gate, and you know your site already, you can come in either way, go to your site and then run up to register. Much easier...

We traveled with 2 other campers, one a 43' 5th wheel and the other a 35' 5th wheel. Ours is a 40' super c. All of us got into the front parking lot to register and made the turn to enter the campground area with no trouble. It's kind of like making a big U-turn. There was plenty of room....

Yes, you will have enough room to turn around at the visitors center where you check in. And our advice is to go in the back gate, pass the dump station and find your site to see if you will fit and IF it meets your needs. We registered, then went to our site and it was NOT what we registered for. If you go and check out your site first there will be no surprises later. There are a very limited amount of full hookups. The back gate is directly across from the visitor center where you check in....

As others have answered, you must register at the front office. Back gate may be easier to come and go from when going out to do things, but depending on your site and if you know where it is, its probably better just to go register and ten park.you should have no problem turning around.hope this helps....

First, there is enough room to turn around at the visitor center, but use the lot at the front. If you pull into the rear of the building it's hard to turn around and the angle of attack from the road to the rear parking is bad. We bent a stabilizer backing out of there. Second, you can pull in through the back entrance, but you will be hitting all the campground roads "backwards" and you might find it a hard, tight U-turn to get in.You can drop your trailer and drive up hill to the visitor center. As others have said, it's about 1.6 miles (or more) depending on your site location, and all up hill. Plus another short uphill walk after you hit the main road....
