• Question:

I've read a few questions regarding the road up to the camp. I drive a Ford Excursion and I'm pulling a 40 Ft travel trailer. I'm not worried about traction (4 WD) but the sharp turns concern me. Comments? Thanks...

I really feel you will be fine. When we were there with our 32 foot Class C towing our Jeep Wrangler 4 door adds 20 feet. We had no problems with turns. Also there were some big 5th wheels there as well. The folks that run the campground are very helpful. They guide you up and down the hill. You call them directly if that will help you feel more comfortable....

We drove our 40’ Class A towing a 4 door Jeep Weangler up the hill and around the corners with zero issues. We’re 65’ long in total. My only caution would be you don’t want to have to pass another RV between where the pavement ends and the campground office - it’s maybe a half mile of dirt road up the hill. There are places where it wouldn’t seem possible for two RVs to pass. I’d call the office before starting up to ask if anyone might be on their way down so you don’t meet in the middle....

You should be good. The turns aren’t tight so that will not be the issue. The only potential problem would be a rig heading down at the same time. There are sections of the road that are manageable even if this happens. The campground structures departures and arrivals at different times. Use a bit a care and enjoy the view from the top!...
