Watch for bears in the area. Nice bike path along Dayville Road. Stop at the fish hatchery and watch the Sea Lions feast on salmon.
Tips from campers about Allison Point Campground
- carolinalaska When leaving Valdez, drive up Thompson Pass almost to the very top and park at first parking lot to the left. Walk across the road to the right and up the mountain. This is the best place to experience an Alaskan Mountain Range.9 years ago Allison Point Campground

I have a video from that trip of an entire wall of the glacier coming down like a row of dominos within a quarter mile of us and then the huge waves and ice coming at the boat as he is running in full reverse.
