Nice level sites spread out. No services. A few sites can be reserved in advance. We were there the end of July and open FCFS sites, even for late arrivals. I would recommend going to the left loop...

Great visitors center a few miles down the road. Stop by the Byron Glacier trail (to the left before the Visitors center). Its an easy 1 mile walk to the glacier terminus. Walk on the snowfield. You must buy a ticket to enter Whittier through the train tunnel. Opens every half hour (and on the hour going back). Hike the Portage Pass; the trailhead is to...

Tip for Other Campers:
Less than 2 miles from the tunnel to Whittier, which has a toll by the way. $13 to go through in my Jeep. A mile away from a Glacier tour which was $44.00 for an hour tour with veteran's discount....
Tips from campers about Williwaw Campground
- 1yearusa there is a gate at the back fence that leads to the Smith's shopping center - Starbucks, Smiths, Mex restaurant, etc. There is a Peggy Sue's restaurant...but don't recommend it.....slow and flies!4 years ago Sun Resorts RV Park

Beautiful campground with large sites that are spaced far enough apart so you dont feel privacy deprived. We camped at Williwaw Campground in a Motorhome.
