Tips from campers about Clarkdale, AZ
- Penny&Will In Clarkdale, if you like craft beer, don't miss Smeltertown Brewery. They're award winning for the state of Arizona for numerous types of brews over a number of years! Don't expect food though; sometimes they have a food truck outside, but they're not a brewpub....just an outstanding brewery. If you're there for any length of time, read the book "Empty Mansions" to learn about the founder of Clarkdale...wow, what a great story and interesting book! In Cottonwood, the best Mexican restaurant experience of our lives was at Adriana's in Old Town. There is fantastic hiking in the area for all skill levels. The Jail Trail in Cottonwood is mostly shaded if you're there during warm weather and are needing a break from the sun. Cottonwood is also known for great local music. Seek out performances by the Verde Valley Vagabonds. They perform a variety of rock renditions including a lot of their own material. They're musically talented and skilled beyond belief. You won't be disappointed. They sometimes play at the Copper Jackalope or at Public Tap Room, both in Cottonwood. Another great local band with a Reggea flare is Local Honey.15 hours ago Rain Spirit RV Resort
- Stray Dog For the microbrewery lovers, our favorite was Smeltertown right in Clarkdale! Their Copper Amber Ale was fantastic. Verde Brewing in nearby Camp Verde makes an excellent plum sour.2 weeks ago Rain Spirit RV Resort
- WarrenCP Sedona is beautiful, lots of trails for hiking and biking. Decent trails near the park in Dead Horse Ranch. Jerome is a must visit and old town Cottonwood is within walking distance (1.2 miles).2 weeks ago Rain Spirit RV Resort
