Tips from campers about Heber, AZ
- HS29 There are no real grocery stores in the area. Small ones with not a lot of selection and very high prices. Pack in what you want to use. Everything else is fantastic. Excelent hiking by going out to Black Canyon road and driving into the USFS areas. Amazing pictographs that you can literally see from the road. Went during the week and were the only two people in the whole area. Parked the truck and took off cross country. Saw lots of wildlife trails with nothing but unshod horse prints but we were never able to see the wild horses :( But man the scenery!!! Went out to Woods Canyon Lake also. The Rim Road is a very scenic drive and the lake is beautiful. All campgrounds and facilities were closed and that's why we enjoyed it so much. There was no snow when we were here and all the locals were dreading the upcoming season. Bad drought conditions. We will pray for rain!! The Ace Hardware in Heber is great for everything including propane fill. (19.00 for 30# cylinder)1 month ago Heber RV Resort
