- Dennis_189 Check ahead for the status of construction work on Hwy 260! (Arizona DOT 511 online describes the construction schedule.) For summer 2024, there is a 25 mile stretch with lane closures and a 30+ minute wait for alternating traffic directions. Plenty of forest roads to explore, most are not very technical. Wild horses were often seen near Black Canyon Lake and other nearby areas. The Rim Resort in Forest Lakes is a handy place for gas and ice. We drove to Payson for Walmart, O'Reilly Auto Parts, etc.10 months ago Canyon Point Campground
- J&KND Many awesome roads to explore with lakes stocked with fish too! Be sure to check out the Red Onion in Heber or the Pizza Factory in Payson for great meals. We did need to have some repairs on our Jeep and we highly recommend Chapman in Payson, they did an excellent job.1 year ago Canyon Point Campground

We've been going there for almost 30 years. Nothing better. 113 in Phoenix. 77 on the Rim. We camped at Canyon Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.
“Beautiful spot in the pines”
Nightly Rate: $28 USD
Pricing update: Sites are $34 per day, half price for SOME passes. Lifetime passes get the discount; annual passes do not. The 32 electric-only sites are an additional $11 regardless, so we paid $28...

“Cooler than Phoenix. The "A" Loop feels like camping in a dog park rather than a national forest.”
Nightly Rate: $22 USD
Friendly kiosk and host staff. Staff, Forest Rangers, and campers show little interest in controlling loose or barking dogs. Staff were unresponsive when we reported dogs that were being walked on...
