Nightly Rate: $50 USD
We enjoyed our 3-night stay here under the the Picacho mountain. Park is very clean and friendly. Park was having water supply problems during our stay due to a break in main, but they trucked in...

Tips from campers about Picacho Peak State Park
- Art Goldsmith Visit all historical sites in Philly, bus available so it is safe to not have to drive in Philly. They have a lot of traffic cams I was warned by the park people, they like to mail tickets in the mail. I was able to arrive here avoiding toll roads, which was a big plus.6 years ago Campus Park & Ride
- AnnP Take the bus into the center and have fun. We went to a Philadelphia Orchestra concert. Definitely a highlight.7 years ago Campus Park & Ride
- ETCTA Campus Park & Ride is located within a major city! 1-Plan your arrival and departures around commuter traffic. 2-None of the gas stations in the area were RV friendly..make sure you fill up your tanks prior to getting on I-76. 3-Bike, Walk, Take a Shuttle or Public Transportation to get into the "touristy" part of Philadelphia. Attempting to drive your tow vehicle into Center City would cost $30-$40 to park and zap all of your patience.7 years ago Campus Park & Ride

Tip for Other Campers:
The Calloway trail to the saddle overview is a good alternative if you cant handle the very difficult, steep, and rugged Hunter trail that takes you to the peak.

Only issue: no water to fill tanks. Campground does have showers and flush toilets and sinks for cleaning. Some folks used one gallon jugs to transport water to their RV.I liked it here and will...
