Tip for Other Campers:

The campground is right next to the beach so it's only a couple minute walk from most camp sites. Tofino is a quick 6-8min drive (15min bike ride) away for a few restaurants, grocery store, and other tourist activities. There is a paved bike path that runs along the highway from Tofino to Ucluelet.Long Beach Lodge Resort is the adjacent property to the...

Tips from campers about Surf Grove Campground

  • Dsumner Cotter has limited supplies but Gasville is just up the road.
  • EllynG Denton Ferry is very close to Mountain Home, AR. It is in Cotter officially, but MH is maybe 10 miles(?) from Mountain Home where you can find a WalMart (of course), Harp's (2 locations) and Town & Country (where the long-time residents tend to shop for groceries). There is also a plethora of places to eat including, American, Mexican, Nepalese Indian, Greek, Italian, BBQ and more. Check the times for opening and closing. Several places that are tried and true here are more breakfast and lunch-oriented. There are plenty of food trucks to choose from. There is also a sporting goods store and, if you want some fun, a miniature golf course is also near MH. ASUMH is also in MH and there are often activities for the public there. Of course, the White River is famous for fishing and there are many guided tours.
  • Richard de Lorenzo Mountain Home is the largest community in the area, about 10 miles from the park. Walmart super center in Flippin about 4 miles away. Mountain Home has a good selection of restaurants and shops. Fishing is the main attraction in this area,.

Great location- just a few minutes walk to the beach. Sites were large enough and had hedges for privacy. However- our site was not very level- we couldn't get our motorhome home level even using...

We stayed at Surf Grove near Tofino for an autumn vacation. The good: its quite new, level sites, super easy access to Cox Bay beach and the wifi is good (15 mbps download, 4.5 mbps upload). The...

Tip for Other Campers:

A paved bike/walking lane has been completed that runs all the way from Tofino to Pacific Rim National Park. Its easily accessible and weaves through the trees near the highway. From Surf Grove campground to Long Beach, my bike recorded 9.5km. Its roughly the same distance from the campground to town. The path is mostly level with a few steep areas.

Tip for Other Campers:

The beaches in Tofino require paid parking which is chancy to find. Your payment allows you to park at all Tofino beaches. It is worth the cost and effort. The beaches in the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve require separate payment, and you can visit all the beaches within a specified time frame. Long Beach was our favorite in the Park for walking and...
