“We're glad we endured the washboard road to get here. ”
Nightly Rate: $6 USD
There have been a few changes since '18. Rough washboard road getting to camp is still rough. There are over 35 sites. A majority of the sites still had large tables, canopies, fire rings, and BBQs....

Tip for Other Campers:
Rainbow Scenic drive is worth the drive. High clearance 2WD vehicles shouldn't have any problems. Your long bed dually will have problems making turns and side clearance.
This BLM site has 25 sites but many are very shallow and would not suit a larger RV. In addition, many of the remaining sites are not level. The site we choose ( #8 ) used every leveling device we had...

Tips from campers about Owl Canyon Campground
- G & I Lots of fun exploring the caves. Bring flashlights. We wore our bike helmets but they do have some to use at the visitor's center. Good sturdy shoes also needed. They have caves with various difficulties. We didn't choose the ones we needed to crawl through.
- RickRei603 Be at the Visitor Center (walking distance from the campground) as soon it opens if you wish to participate in a ranger-led FCFS cave tour. The tour when we were there filled as soon as the Visitor Center opened with day-trippers. Many caves are closed during the summer for nesting bats check before you go.
- Loiz3744 Ii is mostly open, some shade. Be prepared.

Tip for Other Campers:
Do the scenic loop drive if you have a toad. Very interesting
We were pleasantly surprised at the nice facilities. Since it's spring break and national parks are overrun we worried that we wouldn't get a site arriving just before sunset, but most of the...

We paid $3 with the Interagency pass. The road in seemed to have been fairly recently graded, but was still quite washboarded. We were the only ones in the campground when we were there. The sites are...
