Tips from campers about Cayucos, CA

  • Sequoia Good breakfast at The Sea Shanty on the south side of Cayucos, about a 15 minute walk from the RV park. The elephant seal rookery is about 30 minutes north. A must see in January when the females are giving birth.
  • surferlou Cayucos is close by-just a 2 min walk. There are some cafes, restaurants, surf shops, and gift shops. I found one of the cafe shops price for chorizo and eggs at $24 way too steep. Set your expectations and budget accordingly if you like to eat out - very pricey. Walking on the beach at low tide is a treat - you can walk several miles south and enjoy the fresh air and the ocean for free.
  • isisdave It's a quick 9 miles to Morro Bay, where between the Main St and Morro Bay Blvd exits you'll find an Albertsons, Dollar Tree, and quite a few more conveniences. There are one small, greatly overpriced grocery store in Cayucos, and an even more outrageous mini-mart on the corner. We ate at Duckie's twice, and liked it. It's an easy 30 minutes to San Luis Obispo, where you'll find other markets, Costco, and lots of restaurants of every kind. They have long-term storage. Many big-city people apparently store their RVs in the storage lot, and come up for breaks during the year. A service will put your rig into your spot for you.
