Tips from campers about Clearlake Oaks, CA
- Mark410 ----- CRITICAL ----- There is NO Cell service at this CG. BE CERTAIN TO DOWNLOAD MAPS TO YOUR PHONE BEFORE COMING TO THIS AREA. Only cell service I could get consistently was 2 bars (Verizon) at the Elk Center (top of large hill). THERE IS ONLY 4 OTA CHANNELS all PBS from Penn State. So be prepared and download podcasts, movies etc BEFORE going into this area. I could get radio in my care but not in the RV2 years ago Benezett Store and Campground
- Teddi2 We were in the area to see the elk in rut. They are wonderful animals, especially the males with huge racks. The best time to see them is two hours before sunset and two hours after sunrise. The best viewing is not at the designated viewing sites but rather open fields along the road.4 years ago Benezett Store and Campground
