“This is a hidden gem!”

Probably most people staying in Fort Bragg look for RV parks near the ocean. We thought it would be nice to stay in the pines instead, and we weren't wrong! This place is just beautiful. We were told...

Tip for Other Campers:
We enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner at "The Wharf". "Egghead" was pretty good for breakfast but very pricey. "Cowlicks Ice Cream" has high-quality homemade ice cream in interesting flavors along with favorites. The The Sea Glass Museum and the Guest House Museum are definitely worth visiting; we also went to Glass Beach. Didn't see much glass there,...

Tip for Other Campers:
The harbor, the breweries, and the "skunk train" are the biggest tourist attractions in Fort Bragg. If you want more solitude, beaches a few miles north and south of town are good choices, as is the Jackson State Forest with its redwood groves about a dozen miles eastward on highway 20.

We stayed for a week at the beginning of July 2023. We had a great time. The new owners have done a lot and separated the full time residents from vacationers. Got rid of all the problem residents....

Tip for Other Campers:
We drove about an 1.5 hours to the actual redwood forest to the Gravity House. The scenery on the way was amazing. We were only 5 miles to Fort Bragg and any shopping you might need to do or to the beach. We also took a day a drove to San Francisco but that was 2.5 hours each way but still well worth the drive.
