Very quiet and clean. No hookups, but perfect for an overnight stay or longer. The grounds were clean. I did not use the restrooms on site. I enjoy the views and the quiet location. We camped at Diaz...

“Wide variety of sites, good base for Whitney Portal”

Lake is nice and Mt Whitney / Lone Pine views are good and vary based on where you camp. We stayed 4 nights to enjoy the area. You can hear 395 semis. Depending on your hearing level, this may or may...

Tip for Other Campers:
Be sure to visit Manzanar Japanese Internment camp about 20 minutes north of Lone Pine. Even if visitor center is closed, pick up a map by the sign and do the self driving tour. Lots of interesting things to explore. Wander Alabama Hills. Hike Whitney Portal or at least give it a visit if you're not a hiker. Drive up to portal is outstanding.
Tips from campers about Diaz Lake Campground
- shomemule Make sure to go to the nature Center and hike some of the trails in the Groton State Forest. There is also a rail trail that goes right past the park and can be accessed from the park by a connector trail. Not sure what shape it's in, there has been a lot of flooding in recent weeks.8 months ago Stillwater State Park

Rustic with pretty rough roads getting in and out. Clean grounds. Did not use the campground restroom. Beautiful views and quiet. We camped at Diaz Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

First the fee for one night is 14.00 plus 7 transaction fee or $21.00. So, the longer you stay the better the average. Cancelation fee is $10 plus the transaction fee or $17.00 So for one night it is...

For a short overnight the pull through would be best. Site 160 seem ok. Some of the pull throughs have trees at one end, which maybe an issue for a larger trailer. I have uploaded a bunch of pictures. Site numbers are in most so zoom in to check which one is which.

Rustic campground, level site with nice view of the lake. No issue with water, rv fill station on the way to campground. Would stay again. We camped at Diaz Lake Campground in a Motorhome.
