Tip for Other Campers:

Be sure to visit Manzanar Japanese Internment camp about 20 minutes north of Lone Pine. Even if visitor center is closed, pick up a map by the sign and do the self driving tour. Lots of interesting things to explore. Wander Alabama Hills. Hike Whitney Portal or at least give it a visit if you're not a hiker. Drive up to portal is outstanding.

Sites are small, unlevel, and dirty park. We left when we saw our homeless neighbors with trash all over their site. We visited Horse Creek, no overnight stay.

Tip for Other Campers:

It takes about an hour to get to Yosemite Valley from this campground so plan accordingly. Hetch Hetchy is close at 5 miles away. Carlon Falls was a nice hike when we wanted to hike but didn't want to drive to the park. Groveland with a grocery store is about 25 minutes away. No dump station. No laundry anywhere in area.
