- sarahroams You will find a ton of hiking in the area! We recommend the Long Point Trail, at the top of the hike you will overlook the New River Gorge Bridge and the river. We also highly suggest you take a drive to Babcock State Park, visit the grist mill and do some hiking. We also stopped at the Main Overlook at Grandview. It offers a beautiful view of the large horseshoe bend in the New River. Easy walk from the main parking lot. Great spot for watching the sunrise!3 years ago The Outpost at The New River Gorge
- KD31977 Although the entrance has a steep down incline, it looks worse than it is. There is a clearly visible guide sign for larger RVs at the exit.2 weeks ago The Outpost at The New River Gorge
- Andrew_331 Lots of great hiking trails in teh National Park Area, let the rangers at the visitor center help find something right for you. We'll be back to rock climb and maybe white water raft in the future. Pizza at Pies and Pints is excellent!2 weeks ago The Outpost at The New River Gorge

Tip for Other Campers:
Visit the dinosaur park and museum if you have little children. There is fuel at decent prices (cheaper than Grand. Junction about 10 miles away). Also a good assortment of restaurants when you exit the freeway. Be aware that there are two campgrounds with the same name. One on the east side ofGrand Junction but not as nice while this is on the west...
