We stayed at site 36 for six night. All utilities worked fine. There was a shade tree. No picnic table, but some sites had them. We camped at Boulder County Fairgrounds in a Travel Trailer.

Tip for Other Campers:

Great location for Longmont, Boulder and surrounds. We bicycled from the campsite to along the Poudre trail, which connects to at least five other trails, including the LOBO, (Longmont to Boulder), and Boulder has endless trails. There was an airshow at the Longmont Airport which was great.

Tips from campers about Boulder County Fairgrounds

  • Hitch2go Take the short drive out of the park to the left and go to the lookout at the end of the road as well as the vistas along the way. There are awesome views of the coastline as well as sea lions, harbor seals and we even saw whales that inhabit the area. Oregon National Dunes is just north of Coos Bay. Also, Charleston has great fresh seafood.
  • OHCal1988 The Light display at Shore Acres was wonderful and a must-see, however, you have to reserve in advance online, but as a Park guest, you don't pay the $5.00 parking fee. Chuck's Seafood Market was awesome. We purchased fresh caught crabs and a pound of steamer clams and really feasted.... The lunch we had at Tai Garden was very affordable and generous! (we actually go two meals out it, so even with pot-stickers, we paid about less than $20 per meal for the two of us.) The Oregon University Marine Research Center was also a bargain and fun - $4 each (senior rate). Bastendorff County Park / Campground has a $10.00 dump-station and ocean view sites. Its close by and its on the same road you take to get to a much larger beach than the one at Sunset Bay. (If you cannot get into Sunset Bay, it is also nice campground.)
  • rvlife_66ff22c06e0cd There are fishing charters right in Charlestown and a wonderful fish market with the best oysters I have found in ages.
