Tips from campers about Ridgway State Park, Pa-Co-Chu-Puk Campground
- sarahroams You will find a ton of hiking in the area! We recommend the Long Point Trail, at the top of the hike you will overlook the New River Gorge Bridge and the river. We also highly suggest you take a drive to Babcock State Park, visit the grist mill and do some hiking. We also stopped at the Main Overlook at Grandview. It offers a beautiful view of the large horseshoe bend in the New River. Easy walk from the main parking lot. Great spot for watching the sunrise!3 years ago The Outpost at The New River Gorge

Tip for Other Campers:
Visit Telluride but spend more time in Ouray and Ridgway. Good breweries. We liked Floating Lotus that had only been open a week. Colorado Boy was nice too but Lotus had better ambience. Definitely rent or take a jeep tour to the backcountry.

“Spacious sites with gorgeous views”

Spacious sites with good all around views. Bathrooms clean. Laundry clean $2.50 wash and $2 dry. We camped at Ridgway State Park, Pa-Co-Chu-Puk Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tip for Other Campers:
Convenient for many different activities. Hiking, fishing and all kinds of water activities. Ouray is worth a visit and Montrose is just 25 mins for any supplies you may need. Will definitely return
