Tips from campers about Alachua, FL
- Jingles1963 Great for bike riding. Fall colors were gorgeous. Trail walking. Really nice primitive sites if youre into that. Only negative was we had no internet access. But that didnt bother me.5 months ago Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park
- R Hancock The Shut Ins are a must, great water fun in the summer, amazing to see any time. Within a half hour or so is Elephant Rocks State Park with it's amazing geology. Fort Davidson historic site is minutes from there. Check out Arcadia, and even pop over to Lesterville for a float on the Black River.5 months ago Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park
- Putarigonit Visit the shut-ins. Just follow the boardwalk around. We did the entire loop and it wasn't really worth it. It's overgrown in some spots, lots of trees down, and you can't see what's crawling under the leaves this time of year (cottonmouths???). Thankfully, we didn't pick up any ticks.6 months ago Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park
