- wilmaine A great place to relax and veg out. Or, do the Panhandle tourist thing while having a nice, quiet place to retreat to. Bring what you need. Groceries are limited and only beer, ice and soda available in McDavid. It's about 25 miles to Pensacola over rolling hills on US 29. Fishing in the Escambia can be challenging with lots of snags in the river.
