“Lovely no frills campground on creek!”
Nightly Rate: $26 USD
This is a lovely campground right on the creek. Lovely to hear that creek! The camp host was awesome and the residents quite friendly. The campground was very quiet - although you can hear trucks on...

Tip for Other Campers:
A trip up Bald Head Mountain is a must! As is a trip into nearby Helena - just void the weekend if you can. It gets very busy! If a vineyard trip is on your bucket list: Crane Creek is worth the drive. The vineyard is quite beautiful! Hightower Creek Vineyard is also well worth a visit. Best wine tasting ever! And they have live music on the porch.

Tip for Other Campers:
Helen is a magnificent German town just 20 minutes away. We loved going out and enjoy the sights. Didn't have enough time to explore the area but we know there is so much more for hiking and attractions.

- Lewis Edge About three or four miles toward Hiwassee on highway 17 there is a convenience food store that sells basics plus beer and fuel. The town of Hiwassee has two well-stocked supermarkets with ample selections of meat and produce and several local and chain restaurants. The town of Helen has a compact IGA grocery store. Hiwassee offers a beautiful lake with boat rentals. Helen offers touristy shops and river tubing.5 years ago Appalachian Campground

Friendly hosts and campers. Grass needs to be cut, but they are working around the rain. We camped at Appalachian Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Small no frills campground. Sites are tight with creek running behind them. Lots of highway noise that slows down at night but doesn't stop. No over the air tv and spotty satellite with the tree...
