Tips from campers about Jekyll Island, GA
- Werhokie The tram tour through the historic village was great!10 hours ago Jekyll Island Campground
- Herkdvr A big warning! The assistant at the entrance to Jekyll asked us how many days we intended to stay. Since I didn't want to lie to her, I told her five nights, and she promptly charged me $75.00. She looked in back to see if I was towing a vehicle (I wasn't because my kids were driving our toad), and she was about to charge me another $50.00 for the toad. An extra $125.00 really increases the cost of a stay at Jekyll! If you're driving a motorhome it's difficult to go through without being "helped" with a service assistant, since you cannot reach the Kiosk from the window (you would have to stop the motorhome and physically get out and put your card in the kiosk - which stops traffic and causes delays for other motorists). My neighbor at the campground was pulling a 5th wheel and didn't have the same problem. I believe this is unfair to people driving motorhomes since we are already paying for the privilege of staying on Jekyll with our site rental.1 week ago Jekyll Island Campground
- Cfalcon The Island is a biking paradise , flat and paved trails . Also all the inner trails are nature's paradise . Beaches are nice and accessible . Most of the food places are good and prices fair .3 weeks ago Jekyll Island Campground
