We just had a quick one night stay in the middle of a long trip. Just what we needed; wouldve loved to stay longer. We camped at Pelican Roost RV Park in a Motorhome.

NEX and commissary are off-base and easy to miss; 5 stop lights south of the main gate and on the west side of the street.

Take the Mayport ferry for $1 bicycle or $7 car (each way) and see Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach on the A1A. There is a nice bicycle/walking trail that goes along A1A all the way to Fort Clinch, with several trail head parking areas. Therefore, you can bring your bikes and cycle different sections.
