Such a peaceful park, private sites in perfect proximity to City of Rocks National Reserve. Electric and water. No sewer. Dump station was too far away to use our honey wagon. The tiny flies are every...

Bring a mosquito shelter if you dont want to be swarmed by tiny flies as stated above. Come prepared with food and everything you need. One gas pump at Tracys General Store and the groceries there and at...

Tips from campers about Castle Rocks State Park
- IamMugs Bring quarters if you want to shower. It's 25 cents for 7.5 minutes which is plenty for me but make sure you follow directions. Turn that hot water on at the faucet before getting in.2 years ago Wilderness Campground
- Sam Cryer Amish Bakery is always a fan favorite. John Muir Park is near for hiking and exploring. Montello is up the road a bit and is a cute town to visit and check out the locals.3 years ago Wilderness Campground
- Alice Oliver Very child/family friendly! Two lakes with great big blowup water parks in them, a pool, mini golf, shuffleboard, ice cream parlor, paddle boat rental, etc4 years ago Wilderness Campground

We will go back and very much enjoyed our time in the park. Restrooms were clean, showers were hot and well maintained. We camped at Castle Rocks State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tip for Other Campers:
The area would be considered "remote" but you can find what you need in town. The staff at the Visitor Center was great.

This remote park was amazingly quiet! The sites set among the pines are beautiful. We camped at Castle Rocks State Park in a Travel Trailer.
