Tip for Other Campers:
The surrounding area is mostly rural with small towns and villages. There are several small towns within a few miles of the park. Moultrie, GA, about twelve miles west has an excellent genealogy library for people whose ancestors came from southern Georgia.

Tip for Other Campers:
We drove about 12 miles northeast on I65 then I85 to the Taylor Road exit where there is very nice shopping area with multiple choices of chain restaurants for dinner. Since we were passing through, we did not visit any tourist attractions.
