Tips from campers about Riverhaven Park

  • RamblinFritzs Get your provisions on your way because the roads make the drive to the store very long. The Blue Ridge Parkway was beautiful even in early spring and Meadows of Dan are worth the stop and shop.
  • Kathyva Nothing in the area, so pack all your groceries. If you want to venture out, the Philpott Visitors Center on the other side of the lake does have beautiful views of the lake and dam.
  • Danjayne We visited Mt. Airy, N.C. (Mayberry) which is about an hour away if you are a fan of the Andy Griffith show. The park has a beautiful lake although we did not utilize due to the crowds.
