Downtown Augusta is kind of hit or miss-we walked through the downtown main street, which appears to be trying very hard to renew itself. There had been tremendous damage from Hurricane Helene. For sandwiches we love Cheba Hut out on St. Augustine Beach. Historic St. Augustine, while crowded and touristy, is still a fun place to walk around.
