“Beautiful Campground”
Nightly Rate: $24 USD
We stayed in site 180, which is right on the water. This is an open area of the campground. Sites further in have tree cover. We saw one firewood bin. We thought there would be others closer to our...

“Our site was nice and shady. Clean gravel site. Nice fire ring on the site”
Nightly Rate: $22 USD
Nice, clean, small hills, firewood available for purchase at a fair price. Bathroom was fine and it is close enough to walk to the Iowa River We camped at Sugar Bottom in a Travel Trailer.

Tip for Other Campers:
Very curvy and hilly drive in to the park. About 2 miles worth. When leaving the last hill is pretty steep down to the stop

I dont think I have ever had a bad experience at an Army Corps campground. From the time I checked in, hiked the park, and departed, everyone I came in contact with was absolutely wonderful. Sugar...

Make sure you follow your RV Life navigation suggestions. We didnt on the way in. It was navigable, but steep grades and sharp turns. It would have been more fun on a motorcycle.
“FHUs in a Park Like Setting near the water...”

Sugar Bottom COE was very well laid out with plenty of sites for everyone. We reserved one of the few full hookup sites on the hill up from the water. The site had privacy in the back and plenty of...

Tip for Other Campers:
In addition to the Devonian Fossil Gorge, make sure to stop by Red's Alehouse in North Liberty. Great food, drinks, and our waitress was very friendly.

“Another Fantastic State Park”
Nightly Rate: $35 USD
This was a wonderful stay. Youre in between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. The park was very clean and well maintained. We somehow got into one of the 13 full hookup sites. There are lots of trails for...

Tip for Other Campers:
Do not follow the RV Life directions when you get close to the park. They try to take you down a walking trail. Try Reds Ale House. Great atmosphere and good beer. The food was good too.
