Tips from campers about Elizabethtown, KY
- KathyMcP This was a good launching spot for all things Keys, from Biscayne National Park and Everglades National Park to the north to Key West and Dry Tortugas to the South. Close to a dolphin encounter. Crane Hammock Museum (dog friendly even in buildings) and trails provided a great overview of the Keys geography and history, Anne's Beach and Sombrero Beach are the only dog friendly beaches. We read the book, "The Last Train to Paradise" as we traveled here from the Palm Beaches area and as we traversed the Keys. It provided a spectacular stage for our 2 weeks in the Keys. There are too many places we evoked to name them all. There is a great visitor center in Marathon. Make reservations EARLY Dry Tortugas, as there are only 2 ways to get there (unless you can spend several thousand dollars and several days getting there and back from Key West) and they are booked many weeks out. Recommend the all-day sail, snorkel, paddle for at Biscayne NP--you can kayak, SUP or sit down paddle.4 years ago Jolly Roger RV Resort
