Tips from campers about Winthrop, ME
- Sweet Princess We were coming from Mass so driving up Maine Turnpike. We usually take 295 through Portland but decided not to with our motorhome and toad. Consequently our rv gps had us take exit 86 before Augusta and we went on some pretty narrow shoulder less backroads! Once we arrived we realized we should have just stayed on 95 and it was an easy ride to the campground.7 months ago Augusta West Kampground
- Pat and Doug Fun old fashion drive in called Fast Eddies have great food and ice cream.2 years ago Augusta West Kampground
- Roadrunner3 Checkout the headquarters of the Maine Cabin Masters in nearby Manchester. Fun gift shop, music venue (5-8 pm) selling sandwiches and food. While we were in the gift shop, Chase came in, and then we met up with Jedi and Ryan in the yard and saw Dixie in the music yard. Very friendly and kind enough to let us take a photo. Delicious Irish Pub, "The Liberal Cup" in Hallowell. Wonderful spots to do some birdwatching and easy trails.2 years ago Augusta West Kampground
