Tip for Other Campers:

Do Not Miss! Roxies Cafe in Selkirk. Prime Rib was wonderful and very reasonably priced. Walmart & Safeway in Selkirk to avoid driving into Winnipeg. Manitoba liquor commission stores are only outlet for beer, wine and liquor. No grocery store or convenience store sales! Had some TV mechanical problems while here and Steeltown Ford in Selkirk expedited...

Tip for Other Campers:

Do NOT take Highway 44 to or from Whiteshell!!! The western 40 miles are OK, but the 20 miles on the eastern end are horribly rough, with no shoulders at all, and wavy and bumpy asphalt. It is as if the road builders roughly graded the roadway, then just dumped the asphalt down. Motorhome was constantly swaying and hitting bumps, with stuff coming out of...

Tips from campers about Birds Hill Provincial Park

  • napunani Do Not Miss! Had some TV mechanical problems while here and Steeltown Ford in Selkirk expedited troubleshooting and got us road ready in no time.
  • judy_online Do NOT take Highway 44 to or from Whiteshell!!! The western 40 miles are OK, but the 20 miles on the eastern end are horribly rough, with no shoulders at all, and wavy and bumpy asphalt. It is as if the road builders roughly graded the roadway, then just dumped the asphalt down. Motorhome was constantly swaying and hitting bumps, with stuff coming out of cabinets and falling on the floor. Horrible drive at about 25-30 MPH for those 20 miles, with no place to turn around or get off. I have been on better gravel roads, seriously.
  • Richie & Jewels Close to Winnipeg and Selkirk so easy to sitesee yet camp in beautiful surroundings.

Tip for Other Campers:

There are numerous excellent museums in Winnipeg as well as out door activities. It takes 30-45 minutes to get from the campground to the area with museums, etc.
