Tip for Other Campers:
Itasca Lake State Park, about 30 minutes away, is worth the trip to wade in the tiny Mississippi River at its headwaters, and to hike or bike their trails. The Paul Bunyan bike trail in Bemidji is fabulous, paved and pretty flat. Bemidji Brewing is excellent, and Luekens Village Foods is a very nice and fairly close grocery store....
