  Betsy_02 Bemidji is 30 minutes north and Park Rapids is 30 minutes south. Groceries, Walmart and laundromats are found either place. Besides Paul Bunyan & Babe there is a museum and interesting metal sculptures on street corners in Bemidji. North entrance to Lake Itasca State Park gives easy access to the Mississippi headwaters.
