Cleanliness

The campground does have a non-maintained beach where you can swim and launch canoe's and Kayaks. We biked around the camp and a short distance on the gravel roads just outside the camp. We kayaked...

Tip for Other Campers:

Fill the fresh water tank at McCarthy Beach! We found that the drinking water is hand pumped and is quite rusty at Beatrice. Since the store near McCarthy Beach is 7 miles away, a larger cooler with lots of ice is recommended for longer stays. The fridge in our trailer could not keep up running on propane. MaseCamp There isnt much close. We enjoyed strawberry picking and driving knotts island. The ferry may close during high winds and fog. Sign up for text alerts. The aviation museum looks fun with older kids or adults only but not young kids. The VB aquarium is fun with kids.
