Tip for Other Campers:
Many apple orchards open in the fall. MN Maritime Art Museum was a nice stop. Quite a few local restaurants, but also franchise faves as well. HyVee within 15 minutes.

Tips from campers about Prairie Island Campground
- Miles and Smiles Local lobster is very expensive. Take a drive to the more remote Schoodic peninsula (a non-contiguous portion of Acadia National Park) for gorgeous views, much lighter crowds, and better restaurant prices.3 years ago Narrows Too Camping Resort
- LaHayne Family Use the island explorer busses to get around the area as parking is limited and hard to find for larger vehicles. We visited Acadia and Bar Harbor as well as Schoodic Peninsula.5 months ago Narrows Too Camping Resort
- John-1977 The traffic light at the entrance/exit of the campground was its best feature considering the crazy traffic on Rt 3. Worth every penny in aggravation avoidance. Get your reservations for driving Cadillac Mountain exactly at 10AM two days before you wish to go or you are not going. Brady's Bluff trail in Perot State Park across the river in Wisconsin had some nice views of the Mississippi.
