  Swampowl Very close to Temple, of course. About 40 minutes from Fort Hood. There are no playgrounds or trails to walk on. But plenty of good spots for bank fishing, and a nice boat ramp with a courtesy dock. And bathrooms beside the boat trailer parking lot.
