Tip for Other Campers:

This is boondocking, but water is close by. Coyotes ravage the campground at night, so its important you dont leave food out. The water is so low that its almost impossible to launch a boat. But its a beautiful place, and well worth a few days visit and lots of exploring nearby.

Tips from campers about Echo Bay - Lake Mead National Recreation Area

  • derrickallard 1. Avoid site #8 2. Go visit the Lewis and Clark National Park 3. Go visit Smith Park
  • Puma1 Astoria is close by and where the movie Goonies were filmed. There is a museum of memorabilia. Great Greek restaurants at pier 39 called Athena MediterraneanKitchen with great food and awesome Turkish coffee. Sunset beachis beautiful and short drive to as well.
  • Roy_299 The beaches there are beautiful. We went to Sunset Beach, Ship Wreck Beach at Fort Sevens State Park and up to Long Beach. The Lost Roo up in Long Beach was a great place to eat.
