Tip for Other Campers:

Nearest shopping in Santa Fe about 30 miles. Lots of federal parks, -Bandolier- excellent park with very well preserved ruins. Quite different from most.- Los Alamos-- A disappointment. Tips from campers about Tetilla Peak

  • Clifford_704 Drive in with a small vehicle before you go up the campgrounds with your rig if you can. First 8 campgrounds (la junta lower canyon) are amazing if you can get them and right on the river. Next 8 La junta upper are spacious and tons of fun and about 20y from the river. Duran canyon is right up the road on 76 as well, and is more prone to wildlife that you may not want to encounter, but beautiful none the less.
