“2 1/2 rating state park”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
This park looks tired. Site was ok but had dismal water pressure. While the surrounding water recreation areas were nice, the campground did not make you feel like youd want to come back. We camped...

“Nothing gorgeous, but seems very dog friendly”
Nightly Rate: $38 USD
I thought it was a bit pricey for a state park (and I don't have a NM park pass). It's a fairly small campground, and there was not a lot of privacy between sites, except for those facing the lake....

Tip for Other Campers:
We found a very nice hiking path that runs along the ridge - it starts near the lake. If you follow it, it will take you past tent sites, then sinkholes filled with water that are quite picturesque.

“Away from the busy world”
Nightly Rate: $17 USD
We stayed here in March 2025 for about ten days. The hosts and rangers are awesome. The bathhouse is clean and there is always hot water. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Motorhome.

Tip for Other Campers:
Their visitors center has a nice and very informative exhibit. There are plenty of gypsum, sandstone and soapstone rocks around to collect and explore. Nice trails. Recommend the bluff trail for biking. It passes by all of the lakes.
And of course there is Roswell :)
“No one at the gate, no check in”

Know your site number and be prepared to drive in circles until you find it. And drive slowly...the roads are dirt and rough in spots. There is no check in or map of the campground online but it is...

Tip for Other Campers:
Bitterlake Wildlife Refuge is interesting. Migrating birds, especially water fowl, are plentiful. Good hiking.
Anything you may need is in Roswell. The UFO museum is very interesting.

“Beautiful views of the Wetlands”
Nightly Rate: $30 USD
The camp hosts were very nice and helpful. The campground and sites were clean and well kept. The sites had ample room for our 35 ft travel trailer. The lake is fun with a swimming area. Too cold yet...

Tip for Other Campers:
They have hiking trails and a boardwalk that goes into the wetlands. This campground is 12 miles outside of Roswell. There are Museums to see and good Restaurants as well.
