“Small no frills campground”
Nightly Rate: $22 USD
Our site was quite spacious. Most sites are all grass, though ours had some hard-packed dirt which would have been a disaster had it rained. Disappointed pool was not open for Memorial Day weekend....

Tip for Other Campers:
Playground on site, marina on site, firewood sold on site, fill up with water at the spigot on the way in. No electric or dump station so have a way to recharge batteries. Generator hours are limited and enforced. No camp store. Big M Market diagonally across from the entrance.
Keewaydin is the closet campground to Alexandria Bay, 1000 Islands on the banks of the St. Lawrence River. They have 35 campsites with no hookups or electric. All sites are grass sites, mostly level...

Tip for Other Campers:
Alexandria Bay offering shopping, pubs, restaurants and nite life. Uncle Sam's boat tours lasting 2 1/4 hours for only $23.50 per person including a drop off at Boldt's Castle, which cost $7 per to visit, well worth it. Clayton is only 10 down Rt. 12 and is well worth visiting, the whole village is on the shore of the St. Lawrence. Visit Bella's restaurant...

- Wayne and Lisa on the Road Appomattox is 50 minutes away. Lynchburg is about the same. We enjoyed the historic downtown and the hiking/biking trail along the river. This is a State Park in the middle of the 1000 Islands. There are NO hookups here at all. There are five prime sites along the river which you can sit and watch all the boats, yachts and freighters...
