“Quiet Mountain Park”
Nightly Rate: $30 USD
On the Blue Ridge Parkway, nestled in the trees and mountains of North Carolina, this campground has been well maintained. Sites are ample but the asphalt pads were designed for shorter travel...

“Stay off Air Bellows Gap Rd”
Nightly Rate: $10 USD
Stay off Air Bellows Gap Rd as a way to get to Doughton Park!!! RV Safe GPS will try to take you under a narrow, low clearance one lane underpass. We had to back our 34 ft motorhome back down the road...

“Quiet and secluded”
Nightly Rate: $20 USD
The campground is right off the Blue Ridge Parkway. We stayed in loop A for RV's. We have been here several times, reserving our favorite site, but have found there are always open sites. It is on top...

The trail from the campground to Brinegar Cabin states it is one mile, but the return marker states 1.5 miles. Just understand it is probably at least the 1.5 miles (one way) if that presents a problem.
Across from Bluffs Restaurant is a road with a scenic viewpoint and an interesting old lodge, long closed.
Nightly Rate: $10 USD
If you are willing to boondock, the NPS campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a good bet for you. The campground has a few "reserve ahead" sites and a few first come, first served sites. We were...

Absolutely gorgeous country. Heavily forested. Verdant green, rolling hills, picturesque farms and valleys wherever you look. Silent: no road noise, no trains. Colder than we realized in May: thunder,...

Tip for Other Campers:
Roughly 10 miles to Sparta, NC for shopping. Don't miss Parkway Craft Center at the Cone Manor House.
We had to park our car in an unoccupied site becasue our site was too short for both vehicles.
