Convenient to Roanoke Rapids, there is a winery close by, pontoon boat rentals, swimming, fishing or just a ride through the country side.

Tip for Other Campers:
There is a nice State Park close by that offers hiking. Littleton has some small mom and pop stores. Across the lake is a nice little nursery that has different little chimes and other items to decorate your home or trailer. There is a flea market with locals selling different things from crafts to antiques.
Tips from campers about Thousand Trails Lake Gaston
- Topperace Not much in Littleton, old Piggly Wiggly grocery, gas station, couple food places - Chinese restaurant was decent, but you have to try and get a reservation at the small bistro on Main Street...we couldn't get a reservation two weeks out it's always packed and heard it was best food around - pretty expensive, but they treat you right. Next door is a great wine shop, with great wine variety at some good prices. Just up the road to the north is Boat/water equipment rental place, seafood restaurant on the waterfront, and Food Lion/Pizza Joint/Drug store/Hardware store where you can get supplies you may need. Head east though just past I95 is town of Weldon and visit a craft distillery called Weldon Mills - a must see in our opinion. The tour is short with tasting at the end and only for $5. They make product from all ingredients/materials from North Carolina...great story and good award winning Bourbon.3 years ago Thousand Trails Lake Gaston

Not a lot to do, but Halifax has some cool history, a few wineries, a distillery fairly close and Littleton has Grocery store and DG about 10 minutes away.
