The drive up to the Dor lighthouse was fine in our Jeep. I wouldnt do it without 4 wheel drive. It was an ok view up there. We ate dinner at the Wild Caraway. Tip for Other Campers:
Eat dinner at Wild Caraway in Advocate. Call for reservations. Go to Cape DOr to see the Dory Rips. If you read or are told to eat at that lighthouse restaurant, dont bother. We tried extensively to contact them for reservations, finally got a hold of them to be told they only take outside dinner reservations if they have overnight guests staying there.

- Trailbuddy Adjacent restaurant others have mentioned has closed and is for sale. Lobster season ends last of July and so the lady down the road runs out by early August. We returned this year and are staying for 5 nights. Just heavenly. Nothing to do but sit, breathe in the air, then repeat! We camped at Old Shipyard Beach Campground in a Motorhome.

Tip for Other Campers:
The road on the way into this location is adventurous, some might even say challenging, but doable, so just take your time. Some large rigs, trailers and motorhomes are found here. Make sure you have all you need before arriving..the closest town for any significant shopping is not nearby.
