“Decent rate for full hookups”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
The $45 rate includes a $10 reservation fee. Didn't really need a reservation in early April, but we wanted to be in the lower campground as far away from I-5 as possible. Ranger Rachel welcomed us....

The Seven Feathers Truck and Travel Center gas station on the west side of I-5 has two RV lanes. If you exit the RV lane from the gas pump angling to the right (the sign tells you to exit to the left to head back to the freeway) through semi-truck parking and uphill, you will arrive at a spacious and clean rest area. Tips from campers about Stanton Park, Douglas County
- JackieD The commuter train (trolley) worked great for going into San Diego. Plenty of free parking where you catch the trolley. Cost for seniors is only $1.25 one way. Can't beat that! No worrying about parking in San Diego which is expensive. Plenty of stops. Santee has just about any stores you need including Costco.8 years ago Santee Lakes Recreation Preserve
- Edies It is a bit of a tight turn into the entrance with a 44' + tow. If there is a car coming down the campground road, someone will have to wait at the turn. The road is narrow from the entrance to the campground so we pulled as far over as we could when a rig was passing us on their way out. There is room though. If you use RV Life Trip Wizard and see where you have to go under an overpass, it was tall enough for our rig which is 12'8". It doesn't look like it when you use the drive mapping on the website. We did the hike down to the Mushroom House. If the right time of year, drive up to the Carlsbad Flower Fields. You can see them for free or pay for all the activities on the busy side. Kept to ourselves but Seven Feathers Casino is just down the road. Great area for cycling. Easy access on and off the freeway. 7 Feathers Truck & Travel Center nearby for convenient & inexpensive diesel.
