- GDM The view from the top of the monument is pretty awesome but its a lot of stair climbing to the top. Great hiking here but take note that the Blue Dot trail is rated difficult and for good reason. Some pretty strenuous hiking (Rocky , Steep climbs ) can be found here if you are up to the challenge.6 years ago High Point State Park

Tip for Other Campers:
If you have a small rig and enjoy back country mountain driving, the BLM/Forest Service road "coastal route" from I-5 (starting in Merlin, OR) to Gold Beach, OR is a great drive. It's all paved except for some very short gravel sections. It is pretty demanding being narrow and twisty with lots of blind corners but the scenery is great and it's a nice break...
