“Lots of hiking trails”
Nightly Rate: $40 USD
Its just a nice park, not too busy this time of year. We camped at South Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

The campground is not very close to the beach, though you can hear the ocean very well.

My spot was a little close to neighbors, but it is a really nice park - several employees and beautiful beach. We camped at South Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tip for Other Campers:
Newport is a nice town and the beaches are beautiful. Be sure to visit the lighthouse just north of Newport - gorgeous views!

“Dunes and disc golf ”
Nightly Rate: $45 USD
We are beginning to play disc golf. The course here was great for amateurs. The walk across the dunes to the beach and jetty were nice. We camped at South Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Typical Hwy 101 coastal roads and towns, all are tough, weekend traffic was very heavy. I would recommend arriving or departing midweek.Someone else indicated that 80% service-related disability is required for free camping in Oregon - that is incorrect, any level of VA-compensated disability qualifies, so 10% or greater.
