Aiken is a nice small town with a great area called the Alley that has restaurants, pubs and shops to see.
Tips from campers about Aiken State Park
- Mtmoi Houmas House across the river presented the fancy lifestyle of the ante bellum rich and famous (best seen with a mint julep from the Turtle House in hand). Sophisticated cooking at DJ's in Vacherie or you can order a pizza there, also.10 years ago St. James RV Park

Tip for Other Campers:
The nearest town of any size is Aiken which is about twenty minutes away. Aiken has a variety of dining options as well as grocery and hardware stores. Be careful when selecting a campsite.
