Tips from campers about Fort Worth, TX

  • foth4 Must have crab chowder at Novelli's Crab and Seafood floating shack. Buy a large container and then get more for later.
  • PolarBadger Waterfront Depot worth booking, as is Restobar and Nosh. Can recommend these places. All three are small and busy. Sea Lion caves are a shorter visit than we had guessed at but impressive and NOISY. Also a bit smelly so suggest vaseline for under the nose... We went when it wasn't that crowded but I suspect it would suck if it was really busy as the viewing area is pretty small. In winter the seals, Herons and waterbirds are constantly on the docks and river area so it's a lovely nature spot. Dec/Jan is VERY windy and wet - be warned. It's still a lovely place to be, but waterproofs are essential!
  • Camper Bella We enjoyed BJ's ice cream, waterfront shops on Bay Street and restaurants.
