“Level spacious sites ”
Nightly Rate: $23 USD
We stayed in the front campground. Sites were very far apart and level. They only offer 30 amp so we had to limit our electrical use as we were in a Super C with 50 amps. The trails are very well...

Tips from campers about Fort Richardson State Historical Park
- Kayak54 Be sure and do the fort tour-10 am and 2 pm during week.,2 years ago Fort Richardson State Historical Park
- RVL680797 Take the 10 mile bike ride on the designated trail that starts in the park for a 1st hand view of the surrounding area!2 years ago Fort Richardson State Historical Park
- NovarroNomads There is a small grocery store, a Family Dollar and more in town. Propane refills are cheap and easy just down the main road. Fishing is FREE in Texas State Parks, something we didn't know until we stayed here. And if you need to do laundry, I suggest the cruise to Mineral Wells. The laundromat there doubles as a laundry museum of sorts and is really cute, clean, and staffed.6 years ago Fort Richardson State Historical Park

“Light history and good hiking”

The state park itself is relatively small, mainly featuring the remnants of the fort originally active in the 1860s and '70s. A handful of the more prominent buildings have been maintained and...

The camping fee reflects the Texas state parks pass discount. The on-site store is run by a private company despite being manned by rangers and no discount is offered on merchandise.
